Direct Payments

Direct Payments

When your customers purchase from collections, you can offer them several ways to pay. Two options are always available: arranging offline payment or paying with a credit card via theimagefile's account. Using theimagefile's Worldpay account costs 10%+VAT and there is a 30-day wait for funds availability.

If you want to offer the convenience of online credit card payments and avoid the commission, use Direct Payments. These are payment processors where you set up an account with them, and funds are transferred direct to you. theimagefile has no per-order charges when payment is made via a Direct Payment. Order fulfilment through a partner lab is still automatically managed (How do I pay the print lab for my orders).

You can offer multiple payment options and change your customer payment options within different collections.

PayPal logo PayPal
This is free to both buyers and sellers. It is very easy for buyers with existing active PayPal accounts, and non PayPal account holders may directly enter credit or debit card details. PayPal is a very popular option. If you have a PayPal account you may integrate it here to accept payments from customers from your online sales directly into your PayPal Account. PayPal does not charge a subscription for an account, relying solely on commission on processed transactions.

Stripe logo Stripe
Stripe offers a seamless, mobile-friendly payment form hosted directly on your website at the end of checkout, presented securely in your own branding — no external website to visit and no separate branding dashboard to maintain. Stripe does not charge a subscription for an account, relying solely on commission on processed transactions.

Square logo Square
Square offers a seamless, mobile-friendly payment form hosted directly on your website at the end of checkout, presented securely in your own branding — no external website to visit and no separate branding dashboard to maintain. Square does not charge a subscription for an account, relying solely on commission on processed transactions.

Traditional Payment Providers

These providers have their own monthly charges, and typically require that you have your own bank merchant account. Buyers are directly prompted for credit card details.

Worldpay
This is the same system that theimagefile uses for our own online payments. If you have your own Worldpay account, it can replace ours as a payment method for your customers.

Opayo
Opayo (formerly SagePay) is an alternative card transaction provider. To use Opayo you will need an Opayo account. Once integrated, funds from your online sales can be paid directly into your regular bank account.

Global Payments (formely Realex)
Global Payments is an alternative card transaction provider. To use Global Payments you will need a Global Payments account. Once integrated, funds from your online sales can be paid directly into your regular bank account.

When you set-up any payment option we strongly advise you to run some test orders — make sure you can see the payments in your payment service provider account and the orders in your account on theimagefile — the orders you receive from theimagefile will state the Payment service provider and the transaction ID number in the payments fields. Check that everything is working fully before making it live to your customers.
