 Plaque designating the Tolpuddle Martyrs tree as one of fifty Great British Trees, Tolpuddle, Dorset, England, UK. In recognition of it place in the National Heritage and in celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, June 2002. The village is famous for the Tolpuddle Martyrs who were sentenced to transportation in 1834 for forming an illegal union, an event which is now regarded as the start of the trades union movement.
