 Germany, Upper Bavaria, Ascholding: preserved area of Raised or Ombotrophic Bog between the villages of Ascholding and Egling. Such habitats are acidic and wet, fed only by rain and mineral salts from the atmosphere, and are usually based on a thick layer of peat, which can store more CO2 than a rain forest.
