 Germany, Bavaria, Wurzburg: castle gardens in the Marienberg Fortress, probably laid out by Prince-Bishop Johann Philipp von Schönborn (1642-73), overlooked by the Maria Tower. The fortress was stormed by the Swedes in 1631 and the 600-man garrison was massacred.
