Forming part of the "Ulla Førre Hydroelectric Scheme" it is Norway's largest HEP station, with a total output of 1240 MW. The Blåsjø Reservoir, which supplies the water, is Norway's largest artificial lake, containing over 3 million cubic metres of water at over 1000m above sea level.
