Setting up a custom layout using the Mirror External Website Tool

If possible, create a dedicated page on your external site called "tif_template.html". It does not need to be shown in your navigation menu.

We now need to isolate the page content area of the page you've chosen.

On the new page, edit your HTML and insert comment tags to surround your page content:

my header & nav HTML
<!-- tifpagecontent_ini -->
my page content HTML
<!-- tifpagecontent_end -->
my footer HTML

You can add these tags to every page on your site (they won't hurt anything) but we really only need them on the one page we'll be copying.

Once this has been completed log into your account on theimagefile and go to: My Websites -> Main -> Customise Design -> Site Layout -> Mirror External Website. Enter the URL of the prepared page (e.g. tif_template.html). Click Next. If the tifpagecontent comments are detected, you're done. Otherwise, follow the instructions to separate layout (bits shown consistently on every page) from page content (unique interior text shown only on this page). Use the radio buttons to mark where this page's unique page-content begins and ends. The content you mark out here will be stripped and become the placeholder area for replacement content supplied by theimagefile.

Go to: My Websites -> Main -> Customise Design -> Site Layout -> Select Site Layout and click the button to select your new custom layout. View the site as visitors see it for testing.
