If you have not already got a domain name, you will need to register one. We recommend Doubleshot Domains because we use them and they are set up specifically for photographers web sites. However, you can use any domain name registrar to purchase a domain name and point it to theimagefile.
First, buy a domain name. Go to Doubleshot Domains (opens in new window) and, in the search area, search for the domain name that you would like, or enter keyword that describes your business. When you have found a suitable available name, just follow the on-screen instructions to purchase the domain name.
Your account with Doubleshot Domains includes email forwarding. theimagefile does not provide email services or support for email so please ensure that the company that you are using are able to supply you with the support you will need.
If you already have a domain name and you just want to transfer it to a different registrar so that you can point your domain name to your website and use e-mail forwarding, you could transfer your domain name to Doubleshot Domains. It is easy to do and once initiated your domain name will be ready to start using. To start just go to Doubleshot Domains and select "Transfer this domain to Doubleshot", and follow the simple on-screen instructions.
If you already have a domain name and you just want set it up to point to your website go to Doubleshot Domains and select "Free name servers and email", and follow the simple on-screen instructions.
