Setting Up a Last Minute Discount


Life can get busy and projects can be put on the back burner until all of a sudden, the deadline is looming. This can particularly happen with little jobs, like setting up a discount.

If you need to set up a last-minute discount for an event like Black Friday, and have not yet sorted something out, we recommend keeping things simple for both you and your customer. One of the simplest discounts is to offer a percentage off the order.

Note that discounts are per price plan, so you can effectively offer different discounts to different clients. If you want the discount to run over multiple price plans you add the discount to each price plan.


Setting up a percentage off discount

  1. Give your discount a name
  2. Select the percentage option and add the percentage you want to offer
  3. Set the discount to not expire - you can delete it later (see below)

We unchecked the Auto-explain option. This forces the system to use your own discount name.
We recommend not using promo codes unless you have plenty of time to get that discount code known to your visitors prior to the event date.


  How to delete a discount

Go to your discount tab in the price plan. Check both boxes where indicated. Save your changes.


  Add a discount graphic to your website.

You can add a image to your website to promote your discount. You can download an example for 10% off Black Friday graphic here. In the zip file you will find two files. Both files show text on a transparent background. One of the files shows the text in white, for dark backgrounds, and the other with black text for light backgrounds.
