Forbid Shipments

When building your My Sales > Price Plans > Shipping Profiles, you may now "Forbid Shipping" to individual countries, set of countries, or the "Rest of the world" zone. This is set by ticking a checkbox at the bottom of the Edit Zone page.

If you're tempted to forbid countries simply because you cannot reasonably estimate international shipping costs, we recommend a "Rest of the world" base shipping price of 19.99 plus 0.04/gram with a 200g Base Weight — this should more than cover shipping to anywhere in the world, while being almost reasonable for small packages.

The forbid shipping feature is especially helpful when you need to avoid selling to certain countries for regulatory reasons, beyond just the difficulty of estimating costs.

Buyers who attempt to checkout with a shipping address in a forbidden country will see:

(When using By-Weight / By-Size shipping with multiple shipping profiles, any shipping profiles that forbid the destination country will be skipped when computing the best-cost solution. If another shipping profile is allowed to ship to the given country, then it will be used instead.)
